4th Workshop on Co-Creating New Ways of Information Systems Education
July 1-3, 2026
Swansea, United Kingdom
We are pleased to announce that NWISEd 2026 is organized as part of AITHE 2026. We invite all participants to explore all AITHE events and take advantage of the diverse topics covered.
The NWISEd workshop series provides a dynamic forum for the presentation, discussion, and dissemination of innovative educational approaches in information systems, software engineering, and related fields. The workshop aims to bring together educators and practitioners to share experiences, best practices, and lessons learned in modern teaching methodologies – both in on-site and remote environments.
The workshop seeks to support and enhance teaching and learning experiences, ultimately fostering sustainable education. By identifying, refining, and promoting proven practices, it aims to transform them into everyday habits for educators, helping to bridge the gap between innovative concepts and their practical application.
NWISEd is designed for educators in information systems, software engineering, and related disciplines, as well as for anyone interested in exploring modern education approaches, pedagogical strategies, tools, and technologies. It provides a collaborative space where participants can engage in discussions, experiment with new methodologies, and contribute to shaping the future of learning.

The Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of Higher Education Symposium (AITHE) is a three-day international event held 1–3 July 2026 at Swansea University (Bay Campus, UK), focused on redesigning teaching, learning, and assessment for the AI era.
It brings together academics, students, industry leaders, and policymakers from global partner institutions including University of Cape Town, University of Innsbruck, and University of Maribor to share best practices and co-create innovative approaches to AI-enhanced education.
The symposium combines two core workshop streams:
– AHEAD 2026 (1st Workshop on AI in Higher Education) – focuses on AI-driven assessment redesign, academic integrity, ethics, policy, and authentic learning in an AI-rich environment.
– NWISEd 2026 (4th Workshop on Co-Creating New Ways of Information Systems Education) – explores innovative, technology-enhanced pedagogies (e.g., AI tools, XR, simulations, personalized learning) for Information Systems education.
A third component, the Generative AI in Higher Education Collaborative Funding Development Lab, is dedicated to co-developing a major funding bid on AI in higher education policy and practice.
The event features keynote talks, hands-on workshops, interactive sessions, and international collaboration opportunities. It invites research papers, case studies, and practice-based contributions related to AI-enabled transformation in higher education.
